Jamie Foxx Is Facing ‘Medical Complication’

Jamie Foxx is recuperating. The actor is recovering after dealing with a “medical complication” on Tuesday, according to a message posted on Instagram by the actor’s daughter, Corinne Foxx, on Wednesday.

In a statement released on behalf of the Foxx family, Corinne said, “We wanted to convey that my father, Jamie Foxx, encountered a medical problem yesterday. Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx have been spotted on the set of the upcoming Netflix film “Back in Action.”

Fortunately, he is already making progress toward recovery thanks to prompt intervention and excellent care. We are aware of how cherished he is and value your prayers, the message says. The family requests discretion at this time.

The request for response from PEOPLE was not immediately answered by a Foxx spokesperson.

The 55-year-old actor was most recently spotted on the set of Cameron Diaz’s next Netflix film Back In Action. The much awaited movie will mark Diaz’s return to the big screen after 2014’s Annie adaptation, which also starred Foxx.

The narrative of Back in Action has been kept under wraps by Netflix, but an insider told PEOPLE that Foxx and the Charlie’s Angels actress “have great chemistry” on filming.

According to a Hollywood insider who previously spoke to PEOPLE, Foxx had a key role in persuading the actress to take on another project. She has known and worked with Jamie Foxx for years, so when the opportunity to collaborate with him on this project arose, she chose to take it.

The actor marked his birthday in December by uploading a vintage black-and-white snapshot of himself as a youngster and thinking back on his youth before the commencement of filmmaking.
